Go to Apple menu and select System Preferences Choose Software Update preference panel, then choose to download and install the macOS Monterey beta 3 update Installing the latest beta requires the Mac to reboot. While many people use ISO images to back up their optical discs, ISO images are now widely used for distributing large applications and operating systems, as they allow all data to be stored in a single file that can be download easily. Most operating systems (and many utilities) allow you to mount an ISO image as a virtual disk, which means that all your programs will treat it as if it were a genuine optical disk. ISO images are designed to allow you to save an exact digital duplicate of a disc and then use that image to burn a new disc that is an exact replica of the original. There is no compression and they are a sector-by-sector replica of the disk. Enjoy new FaceTime audio and video enhancements, including spatial audio and Portrait mode. macOS Monterey lets you connect, share and create like never before. You can think of an ISO image as a complete copy of everything stored on a physical optical disc such as a CD, DVD, or Blu-ray. Download macOS Monterey for macOS 10.9 or later and enjoy it on your Mac. The name ISO was taken from the name of the file system used by optical media, which is typically ISO 9660. Unless a zone is at maximum capacity, deployment is immediate, and players can freely deploy and return to the main base at will. Actual logistics information is limited to the town locations and road network and doesn’t show what production facilities are available at each spawn point. It also shares a limited amount of information, such as each zone's friendly population (low, med, high) and whether the zone is a contested or a logistics zone. Foxhole’s deployment map shows which faction controls each town zone in a region. This single-hex map is not connected to the main battlefield and has the dual purpose of serving as the game lobby and tutorial area.Īs a game lobby, your home base gives you a chance to pull up the map and consider where you wish to deploy. Upon entering the game, you are placed at your faction’s home base. You can go all Tarkov and scavenge the dead bodies on the ground, but without a healthy supply line bringing a steady flow of equipment to the front, any ground gained by a faction will be quickly lost to a well-stocked enemy. There’s nothing worse in Foxhole than spawning into a forward base only to find out there isn’t any ammo to go with the rifles stockpiled there. Beyond a starting stockpile of equipment at the start of the war, every piece of equipment, from each clip of ammunition to bandages to massive battle tanks, must be produced and then hand-delivered to the front lines. With the battle taking place in a sandbox environment, logistics become just as important as battlefield tactics. Battles can be drawn-out, with good communication and a coordinated strategy needed to break through defensive lines. Taking cover in a trench will protect you from random gunfire but does little to save you when enemy artillery shells start raining down from above. Going Rambo and charging headlong into an enemy’s defensive position will abruptly end with just a couple of shots fired. Each region can hold around 100 soldiers per faction, so squad and platoon tactics reign supreme. With all joking about my military expertise over, much of Foxhole’s battles are based on realistic combat. I've never served in the military, but I have watched Saving Private Ryan several times, so I consider myself somewhat of an expert on military realism. Within each region are several towns, one of which is a victory town, and victory is earned by one faction holding and upgrading 32 of the victory towns to Provincial Garrisons. The war is waged across a map made up of 37 hexagonal regions. With the potential for thousands of players per faction, Foxhole is a gigantic-scale match of capture the flag. Except in Foxhole, every soldier is a human player, and every tank needs an entire crew. Foxhole is played from a top-down perspective, giving it the feel of a real-time strategy game. With WWI and WWII-era technology, two factions - the Colonials and the Wardens - fight a persistent online battle that can run for weeks before victory is claimed. Boot Campįor those unfamiliar, Foxhole is a semi-realistic war simulation set in an alternate-timeline universe where the World Wars never ended. After spending the last couple of weeks on the front (and back) lines, I am happy to report that Foxhole deserves serious consideration from anyone wanting to take their solo mil-sim experience into an online battlefield. MMOs are constantly under development (or shutting down), but a 1.0 release means Siege Camp believes Foxhole is ready for prime time, so I took up the call to arms and plunged into Foxhole to see if they were right. I have watched Foxhole’s development from afar but have always been hesitant to jump in and give it a go it always felt like Foxhole was still too early in development to give it any real attention. If you'd like a complete soup-to-nuts walkthrough of the Azure Cognitive Services text-to-speech feature, I encourage you to check out my Pluralsight course, which covers everything you need to know about getting up and running with text-to-speech. This will cycle through various options and allow you to test out what each voice sounds like. To pick a different voice or audio output, use PowerShell's parameter tab completion feature once you've typed the parameter -VoiceAgent or -AudioOutput by hitting the space key, and then begin hitting the tab key. This is a bare-bones example that allows you to test out various voices. I am an option for a neural voice.'ĪudioOutput = 'audio-16khz-128kbitrate-mono-mp3' MP3 file in your default audio player and play it. MP3 file with the specified audio format. Below is an example of an API call that converts the text in the Text parameter that will be voiced with the GuyNeural voice, which will then create an. To quickly test out the service, you only need to run ConvertTo-Speech once using a few parameters. This command takes care of nearly all of the hard parts of getting accustomed to working with text-to-speech like getting an access token and crafting the SSML. Next, you'll use the ConvertTo-Speech command. If a list of available voices is returned, you're good to go! If not, ensure the API key is correct in your configuration.json file. First, to ensure your key is correct, run Get-VoiceAgent. Once you've got the AzTextToSpeech module setup, you're now ready to begin testing the text-to-speech API. Select Python as the Runtime and on the Execution role select the role we created above. Go to Lambda dashboard and Create function. Head over to GitHub for a quick Getting Started guide. Next, let’s create the Lambda function which will trigger the AWS Transcribe when we upload a new file to our input S3 bucket (which we will create in the next step). Once you've got the PowerShell module installed, open up configuration.json in the C:Files.json and input your specific Azure Cognitive Services account attributes inside. Then, you'll need to install the AzTextToSpeech module using Install-Module AzTextToSpeech. You'll also need to be on Windows and have a PowerShell console set up as administrator. If you'd like to follow along with the rest of the article, you'll first need to create an Azure Cognitive Services account. As a non-developer trying to learn text-to-speech, I've built a PowerShell module that helps understand the REST API and what kinds of voices you can use. If you're a developer needing to integrate text-to-speech into an application, you're probably going to use one of the language SDKs. Speech-to-text is available via the Speech SDK, the REST API, and the Speech CLI.

After finally dragging my way thru getting flying, I've tried a few times but always ended up with 3/5 or less before it was found. Making it more about the account progressing and less about the character. Finally managed to snag the Long-Forgotten Hippogryph. Maybe that will be next expacs version of the implementation of the never ending grind. So long as I’m playing on a toon it shouldn’t matter what I’m playing on. Maybe if they made it easier to switch specs and alts the never-ending wouldn’t bother me so much. There are a lot more options on how to spend your time instead of do these five dailies for x days, but they are all more boring overall. Now none of the dailies (WQ) move a story forward. Klaxxi especially was very well done story with dailies to unlock. I loved how on Isle of thunder you did dailies for certain number of days to unlock a new scenario to unlock different dailies and told a story as you progressed through the rep ranks. I personally loved a lot of the dailies during MoP it was only the locking of stuff behind them that made them feel mandatory that I didn’t like. Now it feels less like play how you want and still progress and more like you have to play all the ways and none of them have an end. It wasn’t the dailies themselves, it was that stuff was locked behind them. It just feels like a lot of their decisions are putting rewards that people really want behind those never ending treadmills which was the whole problem with dailies in MoP. I liked that direction of no matter how you choose to play the game you will always be making some progress. Whether it was dailies, pet battles, etc. I liked that in MoP there were lots of ways you could play and still be earning the lesser charms. I agree with the concept for some things, but I think they are just burning people out and pissing them off. Yeah if you read about their latest earnings call they talk about active engagement and monthly active users so their whole goal is to crank the treadmill up so that you can’t step off as that is their metric they are scoring themselves on. Another riddle or a is it a class quest I dont know about?Īnd that was my week in WoW. I have no idea what it is for and Wowhead didn’t help me but apparently there are many of them around Legion. I need way more practice in arenas so I’m really glad the world bonus in a few weeks is for extra honor in arenas. We managed to get the guild an achievement for doing 2s in a guild group. I think I might like them even more than 3s. I finally stepped into 2s, which I thought I would hate, but they are actually really fun. I was doing 3s with Dec on his hunter, and Toco on his Shammy and I got my first arena achievement for raising my rank up. Little things amuse me, but I’m fairly sure I am improving, though there’s heaps of derp moments still where I die to something I could have avoided. I was so so proud of me dropping an Ursols vortex and then blinking away from a Warrior who was trying to kill me and he got caught in it. I’m finding they are really fun and I’m slowly getting better. I’ve still been doing lot of arenas lately. The novelty of the sentinel owl form hasn’t worn off yet and I’m finding lots of ways to keep myself amused with it, perching in various places or trying to fit in with the real wildlife. So many times I instantly click the illusion off but every now and again it gives me one that I really like. The coin of many faces actually gave me a really nice illusion for the first time in ages. I love this mount so much, it’s really pretty with its rainbow feathers. I was super lucky with my last Azsuna one and I got the Cloudwing Hippogryph. Emissaries are still pretty high on my daily to-do list so the chance to get something extra out of them is pretty good. I love the new cache idea when you’re exalted with Legion factions and you get more rep with them. Lots of world quests on the Broken Shore meant that Zee got exalted reputation with the Armies, but she’s still down there every day still doing the world quests for Nethershards to turn into trinkets. Legion will be a year old before we know it at this rate. Yet another random week in Wow has flashed by. Random Tuesday Mutterings is the perfect place to put the random assortment of what-nots I’ve got up to in Azeroth each week. Thus, a mirror can be any surface in which the texture or roughness of the surface is smaller (smoother) than the wavelength of the waves. This property, called specular reflection, distinguishes a mirror from objects that diffuse light, breaking up the wave and scattering it in many directions (such as flat-white paint). These rays are reflected at an equal yet opposite angle from which they strike the mirror (incident light). The light can also be pictured as rays (imaginary lines radiating from the light source, that are always perpendicular to the waves). This allows the waves to form an image when they are focused through a lens, just as if the waves had originated from the direction of the mirror. Light consists of waves, and when light waves reflect from the flat surface of a mirror, those waves retain the same degree of curvature and vergence, in an equal yet opposite direction, as the original waves. In modern mirrors, metals like silver or aluminium are often used due to their high reflectivity, applied as a thin coating on glass because of its naturally smooth and very hard surface.Ī mirror is a wave reflector. Natural mirrors have existed since prehistoric times, such as the surface of water, but people have been manufacturing mirrors out of a variety of materials for thousands of years, like stone, metals, and glass. This allows the viewer to see themselves or objects behind them, or even objects that are at an angle from them but out of their field of view, such as around a corner. Mirrors reverse the direction of the image in an equal yet opposite angle from which the light shines upon it. Light that bounces off a mirror will show an image of whatever is in front of it, when focused through the lens of the eye or a camera. Sound waves are much longer than light waves, thus the object produces diffuse reflections in the visual spectrum.Ī mirror or looking glass is an object that reflects an image. The mirror magnified the sound of approaching enemy Zeppelins for a microphone placed at the focal point. Second, you can suspend your mirror differently – it’s usually a wall mirror and it has some hook to attach it but you may suspend it using leather belt, cord, rope or whatever you like, depending on the style of your space. What can you do with a ready mirror to make it fit your space? First of all, you can change its frame – go for a new one, paint or cover the existing one, for example, with fabric, decoupage, staining or something else. IKEA has a wide range of mirrors like Nissedal, LOTS, Hovet and many others, and you may choose any mirror you like to change it or to compose a new one. That’s a mere 15% of the number that experienced the theater before the pandemic. Last school year, Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre produced only one show as a student matinee, “A Christmas Carol,” and just 7,000 students saw it or participated in programming. Explore Clayton County, Georgia Aquarium partner on marine science classes When in-person learning returned, field trips lagged, as many large metro districts dealt with transportation challenges and navigated ongoing safety concerns, Rice said.īut the schedule is back to busy: Rice expects at least 11,000 students to visit by the end of January, followed by more next spring. In the past, schools found their own funding to pay for any trips, which took place on a school-by-school basis. Each grade will go to a different site, from botanical gardens and the symphony to art and science museums. The program, whose tagline is “expeditions for everyone,” is aimed at exposing all students to memorable, hands-on learning beyond the classroom, said Amanda Smith, a museum teaching specialist who develops such outings for the district. Clayton County Public Schools, the metro Atlanta system that waited the longest to reopen buildings, permitted certain field trips last year with safety restrictions and expects the number to grow this year. Schools in Gwinnett County took field trips last year and “are wide open now,” said Eric Thigpen, the district’s executive director of academic support. In the spring, popular attractions such as the Atlanta History Center, the Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta and the nature center, which typically host tens of thousands of students annually, saw field trip attendance soar, an uptick that’s growing this school year.Īfter two years in which trips were halted or reduced, Fulton County Schools has kicked off a new, expanded program that aims to give every child in the 90,000-student district a chance to visit an educational venue.
